Our
mission is:
To worship, love, and praise God, and to celebrate the presence of Christ among us. All baptized persons are invited to share the Eucharist.
To love others in the name of Christ by warmly welcoming all newcomers and by extending our Christian witness beyond our parish, reaching out to people in need.
To provide Christian nurture for our congregation by offering opportunities for study and spiritual growth, and by encouraging each member to identify his/her own unique ministry to the world and to exercise that ministry with enthusiasm as an offering to God.

On behalf of the people of the Episcopal Church of St. John the Divine and Preschool, I welcome you to our parish life and mission. It could be that God is calling you, your families and friends to join us here in our parish in the South Silicon Valley area.
St. John's parish is an inter-generational community that encompasses the beautiful diversity of people who are drawn to worship in the Episcopal Church tradition.
St. John's Episcopal Preschool is located on our campus and includes a quaint cottage classroom and a new classroom building. We offer a Preschool Program and summer camp for children from ages 2 1/2 to the pre-Kindergarten ages. Our Preschool and staff are committed partners with parents to help mentor children during the Preschool years.
We are called to be a mentoring community for our youth and we encourage the entire family to be at worship together. We are mindful of the words of Jesus regarding the kingdom of heaven belonging to children, and so we offer a Family Eucharist at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. This worship service allows young children to be regarded as full participants and not seen as "distractions" to the adults. At 9 a.m. we celebrate a Rite II Choral Eucharist.
We are blessed to have an active music program. Virginia R. Scott directs our Divine Jubilation HandBell Choir and our Chancel choir. Our Handbell Choir offers a learning and performance program for those who enjoy ringing. Our Pianist/Musician is Sandra Marlowe. Andoni Bundros is our children’s choir director and director of our youth band. We are blessed by the musical gifts of our youth.
"Simply Divine" is the name of our Episcopal Women's Craft Guild. They are active in creating handmade soaps and bath products, Ukrainian Easter Eggs, making a variety of Prayer Bead Bracelets.
St.
John
the Divine has completed
a
Labyrinth in the parish courtyard. The Labyrinth provides a place for
meditative walking where a walker can invoke God's Spirit to lead and
guide on the path of life. Come and walk our Labyrinth (click
here to learn more).
St. John the Divine Episcopal Church is an intimate and caring community where the rector is accessible and where you need not be anonymous. You can really make a difference in our parish life by becoming a part of our worshipping community and we hope that we can touch your life with a friendly welcome and warm care.
I invite you to join us as we support one another in our faith adventures.
